About us
Kennel Wildmountain Tollers is owned by Leif and Lis. Our son, Kristian, who has long since moved out was also been a big part of the dogs' life while he lived at home.
We live in Vildbjerg (translates to Wildmountain) between Herning and Holstebro.
Leif works as an IT Specialist in Karup. Lis works as an Executive Assistant at LEGO System A/S.
We got our first toller, Redreynards Chichi Cayenne, Chili, in 2004. The following year, Redreynards Daisy Duck, Daisy, joined us.
We had no prior experience with dogs or dog training. But since the toller is a retriever, it was a natural choice for us to seek out hunting training to see if it was something for us and the dogs. And it was!
We started training with the Danish Retriever Club, but eventually, we got involved with the Danish Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club and helped organize training in our area.
We both originally trained as instructors in the Danish Retriever Club.
For many years, we have been active in trials in both the Danish Retriever Club and the Danish Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club - with varying success ;-) Lis has also dabbled a bit in obedience competitions under the DKK.
Today, we train exclusively with Aase and Trond Gjøtterud (Kennel Huntingmate) in Arnborg, south of Herning. Besides opening our eyes to a whole new way of training dogs, we have formed a friendship that we greatly value.
Today, we participate in Toller hunting tests in those countries that have official tests - however, mostly in Denmark and Sweden.
We occasionally breed a litter of puppies - in 20 years, we have only had four litters. Lis has completed the DKK breeder education and the advanced course.
